What is Zoom Tooth Whitening?

The Zoom! In-Office Whitening System is a revolutionary teeth whitening procedure. It's safe, effective and fast, very fast.

At The Dental Practice we are one of the first practices in New Zealand to offer the Zoom! System. It is the same system used on TV's Extreme Makeover program by Dr Bill Dorfman.

The system is ideal for anyone looking for instant results. The convenience of Zoom! in comparison to days of wearing trays and or having to apply solutions makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual.


How Does it Work?

We spend the first part of the appointment making sure that you are comfortable and ready to have your teeth whitened. We isolate your lips and gums and apply the Zoom Whitening Gel onto your teeth.

We then use a specially designed light that activates the gel which whitens your teeth. At this time most of our patients relax either by listening to music or watching a movie (some even go to sleep!).

The gel used is a scientifically formulated pH balanced Hydrogen Peroxide that, when activated by the Zoom light, penetrates gently into the tooth and removes deep stains and discolourations.

The complete procedure takes just over an hour to complete and it's done! No need to spend a week wearing a tray or painting on solutions multiple times a day.


How Long Does the Tooth Whitening Last?

Once your teeth have been whitened it usually takes several years for you to gather the stains which have discoloured your teeth.

After the Zoom Whitening if you use the take home touch-up kit then your teeth will always be lighter than they were prior to the procedure. Most often a touch up once a year will maintain a whiter smile that sparkles for years.
